RPA overview
RPA (Rachel Pickford Architecture) is a design led practice prioritising high quality spaces, through considerate use of materials, details and our environment.
RPA was set up at the end of 2023 by Rachel Pickford, a qualified Architect with over 10 years Professional Experience and 6 years post qualification .
The ethos of the practice is to collaborate with clients to design and deliver, thoughtful, well considered and happy spaces, that provide long term benefits.
Rachel Pickford (she/her)
Prior to setting up the practice Rachel was a Project Architect at Sarah Wigglesworth Architects an award winning London based practice. During this time, Rachel was the Project Architect for the Elms (RIBA stages 2 and 3), collaborating on the design and coordination of a new neighbourhood providing 66 new family homes in Nottingham. In parallel, Rachel led a pilot deep retrofit project of 9 service family homes. Catterick was featured in the Building Centre’s Retrofit 2023 Exhibition and presented by Rachel as part of the webinar series.
Prior to SWA, Rachel was an Associate at TDO Architecture for just under six years. During this time she project ran several residential projects from initial stages to completion. Working on one-off homes, extensions and new-builds on a range of sites from conservation areas, infill sites and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Rachel has extensive experience within the residential sector. Her knowledge covers all RIBA Stages, and her excellent technical ability supports her creative approach to problem-solving at a variety of scales. She has further gained experience in mixed- use, educational and community projects.
